Asia-Pacific stocks mostly grew on Friday, with the Hong Kong market climbing for the second day.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index Rises 2.5%

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) increased by 2.5% to reach 17,664.12 points. Meanwhile, the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan was closed.

Positive Performance by Chinese Companies

Chinese companies also experienced positive growth in the stock market. The Shanghai Composite Index (SHCOMP) saw an increase of 0.7% to reach 3,030.80 points. Similarly, Singapore stocks showed promising results, with the FTSE Straits Times Index (STI) gaining 2.0% to reach 3,143.07 points. South Korean stocks on the KOSPI Composite Index recorded a rise of 1.1% to reach 2,368.34 points. Additionally, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index (XJO) gained 1.1% to reach 6,978.20 points.

Standout Performers

Among the Hang Seng Index constituents, pharmaceuticals company Sino Biopharmaceutical saw the largest increase on Friday, with shares adding 8.4%. Other notable performers include motor vehicle dealing firm Zhongsheng Group Holdings and sporting goods retailing company Li Ning, both witnessing an increase of 8.1% and 6.6% respectively.

Decline in Hong Kong's Aluminum Company

However, shares of aluminum company China Hongqiao Group saw a decline in Hong Kong, with shares sliding by 1.0% on Friday. Meat processing firm WH Group and gold ore mining company Zijin Mining Group also experienced a slight drop of 0.6% and 0.2% respectively.
