A container ship owned by Hapag-Lloyd, a German shipping company, fell victim to an attack in the Red Sea. This incident is another example of the ongoing attacks carried out by Yemen's Houthi rebels in this region.

According to a spokesperson from Hapag-Lloyd, the vessel named Al Jasrah, with a capacity of 15,000 TEU, was attacked near the coast of Yemen while en route from the Greek port of Piraeus to Singapore. Despite the attack, the ship continues its journey towards its original destination.

Thankfully, no one on board was injured during the attack. Hapag-Lloyd has assured that they will be implementing additional safety measures to protect their crew members.

With Houthi forces targeting numerous commercial ships passing through the Bab el-Mandeb strait lately, the situation has further complicated ongoing efforts by the U.S. and its allies to secure this critical shipping lane. It has also become a new front in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
