Former U.S. Rep. George Santos has filed a lawsuit accusing late-night host Jimmy Kimmel of deceiving him into creating videos on the Cameo app. These videos were then used to mock Santos on Kimmel's show.

Defendants Named in Lawsuit

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. district court for the southern district of New York, names Kimmel, ABC and Walt Disney Co. as defendants. A Disney representative from Jimmy Kimmel Live! has yet to respond to requests for comments.

Allegations and Claims

Santos, who was removed from the House of Representatives due to fraud charges, is suing for copyright infringement, fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment.

Kimmel allegedly misled Santos into making videos that would mock his personality. Through Cameo, Santos unknowingly fulfilled requests that were submitted by Kimmel using fake names and storylines.

Consequences of Deception

These videos were later featured on a segment called "Will Santos Say It?" on Kimmel's show starting in December.

In a recent legal dispute, Santos condemned Jimmy Kimmel's use of his content without permission. In one of the segments, Santos praised the winner of a beef-eating competition, hailing their ability to consume 6 pounds of ground beef in under 30 minutes.

Robert Fantone, representing Santos, stated that Kimmel's antics were entertaining but amounted to a blatant violation of copyright law. Santos is pursuing damages amounting to $750,000 for five videos showcased on the show and various social media channels.

Allegations Against Ex-Lawmaker

Despite protestations of innocence, Santos remains entangled in legal proceedings. He entered a plea of not guilty following a revised indictment in October. Notably, Democratic candidate Tom Suozzi emerged victorious in a special election for Santos' former position.
