Shares of Meta Platforms Inc. (META) enjoyed a positive trading session on Monday, with a modest increase of 0.75% to $302.55. This upward trend can be attributed to the overall favorable performance of the stock market. The NASDAQ Composite Index (COMP) rose marginally by 0.01% to reach 13,710.24, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) experienced a slight increase of 0.02% to reach 34,624.30.
It is worth noting that Meta Platforms Inc. fell just $23.65 short of its 52-week high ($326.20), which was achieved on July 28th.
When compared to some of its competitors, Meta Platforms Inc. demonstrated mixed performance. While Apple Inc. (AAPL) experienced a notable rise of 1.69% to $177.97, Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) saw a slight decline of 0.35% to $329.06. On the other hand, Alphabet Inc. Cl C (GOOG) managed to achieve a modest increase of 0.48% to reach $138.96.
Despite the positive movement in the share price, trading volume remained lower than average. With a volume of 13.7 million shares traded, it fell short by 9.3 million shares when compared to the 50-day average volume of 23.0 million.
