The Thai stock market witnessed a drop on Wednesday, as the all-company Thailand SET Index SET (-0.30%) decreased by 0.3% to reach 1,429.32.

Technology Sector Takes a Hit

Jasmine Tech Soln JTS (+2.27%), a prominent technology firm, suffered the largest decline, with their stocks plummeting by 7.2%. This was closely followed by retail/wholesale company Dohome DOHOME (-3.94%), experiencing a significant 5.7% decrease. Retail/wholesale company Com7 COM7 (+11.34%) also saw a dip of 3.8% in their shares.

Notable Gains in Certain Sectors

On the other hand, CK Power CKP (+3.07%), a notable company in the market, emerged as the biggest leader during the session, witnessing a remarkable increase of 7.1%. Real estate/construction firm Asset World AWC (+2.25%) also experienced a positive trend, with their shares rising by 5.5%. Media/entertainment company Super Turtle TURTLE (-0.71%) secured a position amongst the top three leaders on Wednesday with a 5.0% increase in their shares.

Market Performance in Southeast Asia

Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index STI (-0.86%) faced a decline of 0.9%, whereas Malaysia's FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI FBMKLCI (+0.64%) witnessed a slight increase of 0.6%. Moving on to the Philippines, the PSEi Index PSEI (-0.84%) experienced a drop of 0.8%, while Indonesia's JSX Composite Index JAKIDX (-0.61%) noted a decrease of 0.6% in its performance.

Market Performance in Asia-Pacific Region

Hong Kong's stock market witnessed a decline, as the Hang Seng Index HSI (-0.85%) went down by 0.8%. However, it's important to note that Japan's Tokyo Stock Exchange was closed during this period. On the other hand, the Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP (+0.17%) of Chinese companies observed a slight rise of 0.2%.

Additionally, South Korea's KOSPI Composite Index 180721 (-2.34%) faced a significant drop of 2.3%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index XJO (-1.37%) declined by 1.4%.

Currency Front Update

On the currency front, the U.S. dollar USDTHB stood steady at 34.28 Thai baht, and the euro EURTHB (-0.03%) remained unchanged at 37.49 baht.
