In a recent announcement, U.S. regulators disclosed that more than 61,000 pounds of steamed chicken soup dumplings sold at Trader Joe’s are being recalled due to the potential presence of hard plastic.

The recalled dumplings, manufactured by CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corp. in California, have been flagged for potential contamination with foreign materials, specifically hard plastic from a permanent marker pen. Despite reports from consumers regarding the plastic, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries associated with the product.

Identifying the Recalled Dumplings

Consumers are encouraged to inspect their freezers for the 6-ounce "Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings" produced on December 7, 2023. Look for side box labels with lot codes 03.07.25.C1-1 and 03.07.25.C1-2 to identify the impacted products.

Next Steps

In response to the recall, Trader Joe’s is advising consumers to either dispose of the affected dumplings or return them to any store location for a full refund.
