Warren Buffett's holding company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc., has made a series of notable moves in its investment portfolio during the second quarter. The company has taken new stakes in home builders, increased its holdings in Capital One Financial Corp., and reduced its positions in Activision Blizzard Inc. and General Motors Co.

New Stakes in Home Builders

Berkshire Hathaway has shown a strong interest in the housing market by acquiring new stakes in several home builders. The company has secured nearly 6 million shares, worth approximately $726 million, in D.R. Horton Inc. Additionally, it has purchased 152,572 shares of Lennar Corp. and 11,112 shares of NVR Inc.

Capital One Financial Corp. Stake Increase

Buffett has significantly increased his ownership in Capital One Financial Corp. by approximately 26%. This move demonstrates his confidence in the company's future prospects. Following this news, Capital One's stock experienced a moderate increase of 0.6% after hours.

Reduction in Activision Blizzard Inc. and General Motors Co.

In contrast to his bullish approach to the home building industry, Buffett has reduced his stake in Activision Blizzard Inc. by about 70%. This decision may reflect a shift in his investment strategy or a change in his outlook for the gaming company. Berkshire Hathaway also sold off a significant portion of its holdings in General Motors Co.

Other Adjustments

Alongside these major changes, Berkshire Hathaway trimmed its stake in Chevron Corp. However, it is important to note that these adjustments did not have an immediate impact on the stock prices of Activision Blizzard or General Motors, which remained unchanged after the market closed on Monday.

Exit from Drug Distributor McKesson Corp.

Another significant move from Berkshire Hathaway was the complete divestment of its stake in McKesson Corp., a prominent drug distributor.

These portfolio adjustments made by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway offer valuable insights into the company's investment strategy and reflect its views on various industries.
